About Uxbridge Business Against Crime: The Uxbridge Initiative set up Uxbridge Business Against Crime in 2005. UBAC is a pro-active partnership between the Businesses, the Police, Local Authority, Town Centre Management, and other local stakeholders.
The success of this scheme focuses on improving communication between businesses, the police, PCSO’s, CCTV and other key agencies. Many of the members in the scheme are linked by radio to each other and CCTV.
The partnership operates and manages an Exclusion Notice scheme barring persistent offenders and troublemakers from all members’ premises. As a result, businesses have reduced costs due to a lower incidence of crime and are able to offer staff the reassurance that they take their safety at work seriously.
The partnership operates within strict protocols (agreed by ACPO and the Office of the Information Commissioner) and is based on the successful model being rolled out in other London boroughs and districts nationwide.
